Web development is definitely going to play a vital role in the future. In fact, I'd say it already does with how society has developed with modern technology. Knowing HTML and CSS may become the norm in years to come, but for now it stays a profession.
For me, I know the basics of HTML and CSS and it has served a purpose outside of developing websites. There is forum software and other types of online posting that benefits from HTML. Even right now I see a tap in which I can edit the HTML for this post. This is where I believe that HTML will become a norm for users who communicate via the Web. CSS on the other hand may just stay with website developing because it alters the appearance of a website. With that, I don't know where exactly you could alter much of a "post". Sure you can change the color of the text, but there's HTML for that.
Maybe I'm saying HTML itself will play a much larger role in the future than CSS, but that doesn't mean I'm saying CSS won't improve and become an even more vital attribute to developing than it is now. I think, wait, I know there will be more design options for websites through CSS. Design changes throughout the years, and with it, CSS will have to change with the design of the times.

Hello friends new and old!
I'm willing to guess that most of you who are reading this already know who I am, but no harm in repeating myself for those who don't!
This is my second year here at CSI and I'm majoring in Computer Graphic Design. I've lived in Twin Falls for about three years now and I've gotten use to life in Idaho. I use to live in Washington for what can be considered most of my life. I've lived in other states too since my father use to be in the Army. My mother is a kindergarten teacher and I have an older sister who is working towards a Masters Degree in Music Collegeing. As for pets, I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Sally, and in a way, she's like a little sister. A furry, barking little sister that is.
My hobbies consist of playing videogames, surfing the Web, messing around in Photoshop, and anything fun! I do know how to play the trumpet and guitar, but I don't play them much. I don't watch much television, but I do like to watch anime. I use to listen to a lot of music, but I find myself listening to older music than more recent music. If you're ever in my car, my stereo will always be playing a CD of mine.
I've taken HTML last semester and so I'm interested in learning more about HTML, CSS, and now JavaScript. With more knowledge, I'd be able to make an even better website and maybe pull off some unique designs instead of the look of a standard webpage. I've seen some interesting things on different websites when it comes to design and functionality. Maybe I'll learn something I've never seen before too!
